Our local newspaper has a website posting the daily news, deaths in the area, sports, etc.  I visit most every day to see just what is or has happened in my city.

Today, these headlines just struck me ...........

5 People Shot On Cowart Street Early Sunday Morning

Mobley Found Guilty Of Murder; Gets Life Sentence

............and on and on and on.  I know our world is in a mess, but to read what is happening right in your own town, makes it more real.  It is as if it is right next door.

All I can think of is 'come quickly Lord Jesus'.

  1. The world is indeed a mess. Our little town of 10,000 just had a huge heroin drug bust and a high school drinking/party bust.

    Just so sad....

  4. So true Linda. This is why I stay away from the news. It hurts my heart to read what's going on in this world today. Constant prayer is needed. Have a day of blessings ahead.

  7. Our little 'burg has, thus far, escaped a lot of homicides. Oh, they do happen, but not frequently. There seems to be more of the "petty" type of crimes here ... and the ever present drugs, of course. And that includes the prescription ones. That's may be more of a danger than the "illegal" ones, 'least ways that's what the traffic cops say. [sigh] It's a very sad state of affairs.
Well, at least for every day our precious LORD tarries, is another day for us to witness for Him and for someone to give their heart to Christ.
    Love & Prayers ~:)

  8. wow...it does make one stop and think just how much sorrow and pain and anger there is outside our doors...we have a message of hope and love and peace and somehow we need to spread the Good News to a lost and dying world. Jesus is the answer for the world today...
