PRE-SPRING

I was sitting on the front porch, yes, warm enough to sit outside, and looked up at the big maple tree in our front yard, and on the ends of the branches, I saw 'sprigs' of leaves showing up!  We have had some 70's in the past few days, and obviously the trees and flowers are enjoying it as much as we are.
I noticed some bulbs are sprouting and I saw a bright yellow dandelion in the yard.  Oh how I am looking forward to full blown spring. I know it isn't here yet, but not long off.
My VA lady comes back today and I have to take my telephone back....no one can hear me, so the microphone must be bad.  Everything else seems to work ok, but if no one can hear me, what good is it?  Hoping they will exchange without any problems.  I have sure had my phone problems.

I need to take Jim's glasses in for repair.  He took his glasses off, laid them on the bed and rolled over on them, popping the lens out of both sides.  Bless his heart, he can't see anything much without them.

We had a couple of visitors yesterday and one was a deacon from our church.  He brought Jim the complete Bible on CD.  When he left, Jim started listening immediately.  That will be so helpful for him.

That's it for today's update.  Hope your week is going good and maybe you are getting some sunshine too!

  2. Oh, that would be grand to have the Bible on CD. What a kind gesture. I would have to have an NIV version or something like that though. Can't understand KJV. :)
Hope your excursion is fruitful and brief so you can return and rest.
Please send rain South. It's dry here now.
    Love ~:)

  3. I know how you feel about spring, my friend! I hear the birds chirping as I sit here typing this comment to you. :) Such a pleasant sound! Found so many of my daffodils coming up...and the snow we had over the weekend must have acted as a good insulator because they are up far more than they were last week!

Sorry to hear about Jim's glasses and your phone. Praying they both will be taken care of without any hassle. And how nice of the deacon from your church to bring the Bible on CD for Jim. It will help to encourage him.

  5. What a blessing that you are able to get out and run some errands now without worrying about Jim. Hope they can replace (or fix) your phone for you! We have temps approaching 90° today. Seems we are skipping right over Spring. Love seeing the trees blooming here!

  7. "Heavenly Sunshine, Heavenly Sunshine, flooding my soul with glory divine..." I know that sunshine and spring will bring joy to your heart and possibly encourage Jim as well. Praying for you both.

  9. I'm loving this weather so much. No color for us yet, but it's WAY too soon for PA.
What a precious gift for Jim. When I was an activity director at a nursing home, we had the Bible on tape which was very well used. I think it was a donated set.
    God Bless you today, Linda!
